Dot Point Critiques! Improve Your Etsy Sales

Daisy Skirt and Rosette Hairclip/Brooch Sunny Yellow by AngelLeaDesigns

I've had a great response to my article walking sellers through a 'self-service' shop critique- click here to read that article if you missed it. Sometimes it can also help to have someone actually take an objective look at your shop and point out areas where you could make some specific improvements, so I've decided to run a 'Dot Point Critique' series to help sellers with their shops. Hopefully others might find info they can apply to their own shops too.

For each quick critique, I'll pick a shop from the comments on nominated blog posts and write up a brief dot point critique for their shop on this blog, highlighting some areas that could be improved (including links to the featured shop of course). The critique will be posted for everyone to read, but I promise I won't be mean :)

If you'd like a chance to receive a quick critique and be featured in the first 'dot point critique' post, please follow or subscribe to this blog and leave a comment on this post with your shop link and your main promotional links (eg twitter, blog, facebook). I'll close comments on July 9th, midnight NY time.

If you miss out this time, you're welcome to try again next time, and you can also read this post on ways to find one-on-one help for your etsy shop.

  13. I could really benefit from a critique. I changed the focus of my shop in February from accessories to baby and toddler clothes and hats, because that seemed to be my market. My sales have gone up from 1 a month or so last year, to about 2 per week. I really need more, though, obviously, and can't afford any child models or professional photographers! Thanks for this opportunity!

  14. I'm always eager for a new perspective on my jewelry business. I started in January, and I've been eating up blog posts and books on Etsy, marketing, and business. My website is in the works, and I plan on starting a blog in the near future on topics relevant to my jewelry style. I know my business could use a new banner & logo. My biggest current challenge is figuring out how to integrate purple in a way that works and make my naming scheme relevant. :)

  16. Hi, I would love a critique! I make really cool jewelry from fine handmade paper and silver and copper wire. I've done a lot of what you write about, and am currently featured in 7 treasures, and even had an item on the front page of etsy. I joined some cool teams, which I love, blog, have a facebook page, and just recently added twitter. I've worked really hard on the photography. But I can't seem to get sales above about 1 or 2 a month...
